A polite "no" to conventional agency construct

MAMUS is formed around the creative vision of John Mamus. Founded as OSNOVA in September 2007, and renamed MAMUS in January 2009 - the agency has worked on identity systems, branding, web design, environmental graphics, print collateral and advertising campaigns for clients such as ICON, Richemont, Sears, Healdsburg California and many more. The creative portfolio presented here is a small, but deep sample of the work we do.

Before John Mamus founded the agency, he was Creative Director for Global Communications at FILA where he worked on repositioning and rebranding it globally. All brand touchpoints were either designed or directed by Mamus - from hangtags and packaging to advertising and websites. The "l'arte nello sport" (art of sport) campaign was run in all markets across the globe and transcended cultural and linguistic barriers with emotive imagery and smart composition.

Previous to his work at FILA, Mamus was co-director and founder of Merkley+Partners interactive and design group - MerkleyID - where he worked on the launch of jetBlue Airways. He has also had director level positions in New York agencies Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy and Deutsch.

His client experience reads like a who's-who of top global brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW , Starwood Resorts & Hotels Worldwide, Pfizer, Maybach, Skyteam, IBM, Jaguar - as well as small but iconic brands such as Japonica, Bigelow's, Michael Muller, Barndiva and ICON 4x4.

Mamus and team have perfected the art of creating brands from strategy - some of them are Bloom, 2040 Lofts, Japonica, Fe, Kqool - everything from identity systems, advertising campaigns to web design and implementation.

Cultivating young talent

While we pride ourselves in surrounding ourselves with deep experience and talent, we also pride ourselves on cultivating and refining young talent - many of whom will go on to run their own agencies or established ones. We teach young creative people the importance of strategic thinking, fluency in different media and being able to think independently while respecting other disciplines.
